A successful embedded system design must perform its tasks accurately and unambiguously, while remaining unnoticed by the end user. Today, with detectors being introduced in ever increasing resolutions, the amount of data that needs to be processed in a measurement system has reached unprecedented levels. On top of that, scientists are demanding novel miniaturized ways of performing real-time acquisition and processing, in order to reduce the amount of data produced, as well as to acquire the results faster.
cosine uses the latest advances in embedded hardware and software to perform instrument control, real-time processing and data visualisation. This also allows direct interfacing of our measurement systems to a host computer via well-supported communication standards, such as Ethernet for industrial applications and SpaceWire for space applications. cosine strives to take full advantage of the benefits offered by such an approach, in order to produce ever smaller, smarter and more efficient designs.
