Key to quality, throughput and yield is accurate inspection of products, preferably directly on the production line. New remote sensing techniques, such as hyperspectral imaging, laser remote sensing and 3D imaging, allow a much more extended analysis than previously possible. Key is to translate measurement data into information. This allows to close the loop and improve the quality and yield as the product is being produced.
